Robert Kupper joined LPA as a senior designer in 1974, fewer than ten years since the firm's founding. During his early years with the firm, Kupper’s design expertise was instrumental in fostering LPA's history of design excellence within the profession. Recognized for successful work with Chapman University Sports Complex, Yuba City Hall and Larkspur Landing Retail Center, among other projects, Kupper expanded the firm’s expertise and exposure in California.
With more than 40 years of experience in the architectural and construction profession, Kupper served as CEO from 1990-2017. His tenure as CEO has seen the firm grow in both expertise and size, from a small, local firm to its current staff of nearly 400, with offices throughout California and Texas. Today Kupper serves as Executive Vice President and is a mentor of the design firm, encouraging collaboration between LPA's many disciplines and promoting innovative solutions for LPA's clients.
Kupper received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Arizona. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and a LEED Accredited Professional.
