To complete the implementation of the West Hollywood Park Master Plan Implementation, the city of West Hollywood will expand the recreation services provided at West Hollywood Park. A new recreation center will consist two levels of structured parking under an approximately 70,000-square-foot building that will be comprised of a gymnasium, locker rooms, meeting rooms and offices. A competition swimming pool and a recreation swimming pool will be locate on the roof of the recreation center. In addition to the recreation center, a 12,000-square-foot recreation office building will be built to replace the existing aging facilities within the park.
The office building will have staff offices, meeting rooms and house the Tiny Tots program run by the city. The recreation center and the office building will be tied together with a 6,000-square-foot bridge building which will serve as the new entry to both buildings and as central core for the West Hollywood Park. The project will also complete the development of the overall five-acre park project. Working in concert with Rios Clementi Hale as landscape designers, this development will include improving and expanding the amount of existing open and contiguous green space, strengthening Park Promenades that connect the park to the community, installing new play equipment for the children's playground and at the tiny tot playground. The park improvements will also incorporate and integrate a National AIDS Monument and Remembrance.View all projects
