Mission Viejo named 'Best Library' in South County

August 23rd 2011

(Mission Viejo, CA) August 23, 2011 - The Mission Viejo Library has been named "best library" in South County by Parenting Orange County Magazine.

The City won the magazine's Readers' Choice award as a family favorite. Parenting OC magazine has more than 250,000 readers monthly. As a winner in the magazine's 9th annual awards, the library will be featured for a year at www.parentingoc.com and will be listed in its September 2011 Readers' Choice special issue.

The Mission Viejo Library opened at 100 Civic Center in 1997, after the City withdrew from the county library system to build its own facility to serve a growing community. Today, 85 percent of Mission Viejo residents are library card holders, and this facility has become the educational and cultural center of the community – the repository of the past and information portal to the future.
