“Highest in Greenas % of Total Design”

– Engineering News-Record, 2011

According to Engineering-News Record (ENR), the top 500 design firms—the firms in the United States with the most overall reported revenue—declined 0.2 percent from 2009 to 2010, following a dramatic 11 percent decrease from 2008 to 2009. Despite this drop, a light shines brightly in the marketplace—and that is coming from green projects.

LPA continues to see a steady increase in green projects, LEED accredited professionals and higher-profile entities making the choice to build green.

As more sustainable buildings come on line, we are going to see data to support why these buildings are better—and how they go above and beyond what is traditionally built.

From our viewpoint, sustainability is much too important to be limited to scorecards and rating systems. We encourage every building to have a sustainable quotient regardless of program or scale. Sustainable design does more with less energy, less water, and fewer materials and resources. And we are proud, once again, to claim our place among the Top Green Design Firms in the nation.
