Cesar Chavez Elementary School

Located in a key redevelopment area in downtown Long Beach, this 75,000-sq.-ft. school will become a corner piece for the future, showcasing technology and sustainable design. The kindergarten through fifth grade school will support a joint-use gymnasium, with an adjoining, existing neighborhood park. The project is intended to serve a growing residential neighborhood, amongst overcrowded schools, by providing students in the local community with a protected learning environment.

The project will exceed Title 24 by over 30% and will include numerous sustainable features such as landscaped walls, buildings arranged to maximize daylighting, skylights, indirect lighting, dimming systems, operable windows, and an efficient low cost central plant mechanical system.
