NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory - Flight Projects Center

Pasadena, California

The Flight Projects Center is the first building to be LEED certified at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory as well as the first project to receive a LEED NC Gold level of Certification from the USGBC in the NASA Family. The new six-story office building includes a basement and a 400-fixed seat auditorium space. The interior spaces with private and open workstations have been designed to give ultimate flexibility allowing JPL to assemble project teams as required by various programs. The building was designed to exceed Title 24 requirements by more than 25 percent and the auditorium is equipped with a vegetated green roof and displacement ventilation system. Low-flow plumbing fixtures, fan wall technology, and daylighting sensors and controls contribute to the project's sustainable story.
