Heron K-8 School

Located on a 10-acre site with an adjacent 10- acre city joint-use park, Heron K-8 School began originally as a reuse of LPA's plans for Witter Ranch Elementary School completed in 1994 for the District. Midway through construction, the client desired to convert Heron Elementary School to a K-8 program. Recognizing the flexibility of LPA's prototypical plans the only new program spaces required to facilitate K-8 instruction included an expanded library, middle school science labs, lunch court and a practice gymnasium. These elements were incorporated during construction without delaying the school's target completion date.
