Cypress College Maintenance and Operations

This 14,000-square-foot single-story, maintenance and operations facility was designed using tilt-up concrete panels and metal louvers that tie into the vernacular of the campus while providing a cost effective design. The design incorporates sustainable features including: natural ventilation, coupled with the thermal lag of the concrete walls to provide cooling and heating year round; recycled materials were used throughout including, fly ash for all tilt-up concrete; natural lighting was supplemented with skylights that ventilate heat from the building, and the yard area captures and recycles water run-off through a water polishing process.
